When this client approached us to design their forever home, they requested it feel like “a favorite pair of sweatpants.” While comfort and approachability were key, this family of four explained that they often host their very large, multigenerational family. By creating a main floor living + cooking space, a basement living + cooking space, and a patio living + cooking space, guests can mingle or separate as needed. A wet bar, tucked behind the living room fireplace wall, is central to everything but can be locked behind doors when necessary. While the overall palette is neutral, our team paired navy and blues with hints of woven and coastal elements to create a fresh, comfortable space where friends and family feel free to kick off their shoes and sit for a while.
